You’ve Got Mail is a playful scratchcard inspired by the lost art of letter writing. Each card hides a short poem beneath a silver layer, inviting the reader to “open” it as they would a piece of personal mail. The project plays with curiosity, intimacy, and the small rituals of communication, transforming the act of scratching into a quiet moment of connection between sender and receiver. This scratchcard comes in a quirky vintage envelope as per image.
Astra’s page-based poems and objects often have an interactive dimension to them as a means of reaching out to new or non-poetry audiences as well as engaging with readers and viewers in a deeper sense. From her Poetry Jenga which has taken many forms over the years to wearable poems, her tangible visual poems often take the shape of — and reshape or transform — recognisable objects.
Concerned with playing too much? Worry not, too much poetry never harmed anyone.
