About
The legendary Greek kiosk, better known as the 'periptero', is found on the corner of every village, town, and city across the country. These small open-air shops, a staple of Greek culture, sell everything from newspapers and cigarettes to snacks, drinks, and even basic drugstore items. In addition to offering a wide array of goods, they also serve as community hubs and are part of the social fabric of every day life. They are sensory-loaded, inviting stands – when you visit a kiosk it's hard to fight the urge to not touch everything!

Inspired by these shops, the Poetry Kiosk is a small press and exhibition platform (sometimes on wheels!) founded by poet and artist Astra Papachristodoulou in 2019. It was formed to connect individuals to new and established visual poets that toy with form in interesting ways. Our press aims to showcase the best of object and experimental poetry in the UK and beyond, focussing on the work of poets who create inviting and playfully tactile poetry.
